AKHALKALAK, JANUARY 18

The opening and the anointment ceremony of the Georgian Saint Mikheil chapel took place on January 15 in the town of Akhalkalak on the initiative of the Akhalkalak's and Kumurdoy's diocese of the Georgian Orthodox Church. As the A-Info agency informs, the chapel was built in the territory of the former kindergarden, that the Georgian Church took gratuitously from the local authorities. In order to prevent the expected complaints of the citizens of Akhalkalak at first it was announced that a dining-hall will be built in the kindergarden's yard (the primacy of the diocese is in the kindergarden). According to the same source, the number of the Georgian clergymen present at the ceremony of the chapel's anointment was more than that of the representatives of the religious flock.
