ECHMIADZIN, on January 17, Georgian Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili accompanied by RA Deputy Foreign Minister Gegham Gharibjanian and the Ambassadors of the two countries was received by Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II. At the meeting His Holiness the Patriarch expressed satisfaction with the development of relations and cooperation between the two states. As Noyan Tapan was informed by the Information Services of the Mother See of Holy Echmiadzin, His Holiness the Patriarch, in particular, touched upon the situation formed around the Armenian Diocese of Georgia giving assurance that all difficulties will be smoothed out by fraternal love, mutual understanding and the consciousness that the friendship between the two peoples has a history of many centuries. In his turn, Georgian Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili, expressing gratitude for the reception, conveyed the fraternal greetings and good wishes of Patriarch of All Georgians Ilia II to Karekin II. The Minister presented the results of his visit to Armenia. As regards the problems of the Armenian Diocese of Georgia, the Minister informed that at present the Georgian authorities are trying to solve the problems. Head of the Information Services of the Mother See of Holy Echmiadzin Arshak Bishop Khachatrian was also present at the meeting.
